Bangladesh Society for Horticultural Science is a forum of professionals working in teaching, research or practice of extension work and Hortipreneurship. It is a non-profit and professional organization, founded in 1972, The society for horticultural Science is recognised as one of the most reputed, prestigious and oldest professional society in Bangladesh. BSHS is committed to promoting and encouraging national interest in scientific research, development and education of all branches of horticulture. BSHS members include students, faculty working in a full range of institutions, and people working in government agencies and non-profit and private sector organizations.
With more than 500 active members BSHS represents a broad cross-section of the horticultural community- scientists, educators, students, extensionists and professionals. BSHS focuses on practices, production and management of horticultural commodities, propagation, breeding, harvesting, postharvest handling, value addition, storage, processing, marketing of plants & products. Our endeavours aimed to uplift the rural society with modern education, research and create employment opportunities for the rural people so that underprivileged youth can have the exposure of latest technology & develop their skills & knowledge so that they can be an integral part of the next generation’s progressive society instead of being unemployed & unskilled.
